The Brightwater Commons Receives Prestigious SACSC Award

At a special luncheon ceremony on 10th of February held by the South African Council of Shopping Centres, the announcement was made that The Brightwater Commons' Green Campaign has won two coveted South African Council of Shopping Centre (SACSC) Awards in recent months.

The first being 2009 Gold Footprint Award, (in the Integration Category) and most recently, one of SACSC's Spectrum Awards.

While the Footprint Awards recognize outstanding and highly effective retail marketing initiatives in a variety of categories, with gold, silver and bronze statuettes being presented to winners, the Spectrum Awards is likened to the "Oscars" of the South African retail industry.

"The latter is used as a platform for honoring achievements in innovation, creativity, vision and excellence across all disciplines and all sectors within the retail industry. Only four Spectrum Awards are presented, with only one for marketing excellence, this sought after award was scooped by the A - Z Philosophy team the Brightwater Commons "Going Green Campaign". An astounding achievement considering the amount of entries received from all over the country.

The objective of the FOOTPRINT and SPECTRUM MARKETING AWARDS (the shopping centre industry's equivalent of the Academy Awards!) is to acknowledge the success of marketing strategies - and the achievement of the desired results. Marketing excellence is a result that requires a combined co-ordination of teamwork, creativity, accurate objectives and measurement tools, strategic focus and, most importantly, a passion to inspire.

It is with the greatest of appreciation that we thank each one of you who allowed this visionary campaign to materialise. The nature of the promotion demanded the participation of the majority of stores - and sceptics believed this could never be achieved. How wrong they were!

Your teamwork, motivation, passion and tireless efforts afforded us the opportunity of entering this competition with great expectation and pride. This is YOUR AWARD one that signifies great accomplishment in a highly demanding and competitive industry THANK YOU!
