Brightwater Commons September 2009 activities for Residents

It's springtime and we are all dusting off, clearing out and moving around!! New Season and New Beginnings!! We surely hope that you are all as excited as we are and remember that Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!".

So much fun was had during the past few weeks with scout soapbox derbies and the creation of those awesome structures. As if we didn't have enough kids running around, we also hosted the Anti Global Warming Super Hero Challenge whereby we invited 6 schools from the area to partake in the fight against Global Warming. Our heartfelt congratulations are extended to all schools that formed part of this excellent initiative. Alas, there could only be but one winner, being The German School. Javol! Well done!

With the much hyped credit crunch putting a damper on retail, the timing is perfect in the way of creating amazing opportunities by thinking straight 'out-of-the-box'! The all-embracing question is: "How can I get more exposure for my shop with little or no money?". And you know what? It's easier than you think!

I'm sure that you've all heard and played around on Mallguide? If you haven't then I suggest you start - it's FREE and highly effective.

Have you investigated Facebook and Twitter? This is the future of marketing, guys.

For those not familiar with the various social tools on offer and view them with some trepidation, its really not complicated at all. Should you have any questions about how to get your brand and product onto cyberspace, please feel free to contact us and together we can work out your plan and strategy.

Once again we are encouraging the tenants to take us up on our offer for green auditing.

As you are well aware Brightwater Commons has embarked on a sustainable journey - from recycling to planting extra trees to building water tanks to capture excess storm water and back wash water.

We have secured the services of Organicarbon and by means of a water, waste and electricity tenant audit have come up with processes that could assist you in reducing your monthly electricity bill.

Not only has Eskom increased the tariffs by 31% they are also in the process of getting a billed passed called the ECS - Energy Conservation Scheme which is focussed on establishing a punitive electricity charge structure, primarily intended as a method of enforcement in sustainable energy behaviour, rather than a means of generating income. Still in its development stages, the ECS is currently in the process of being assessed and reviewed to achieve the most desirable and advantageous results for all respective parties involved.

What this will mean is simple; if you transgress over a certain amount on your monthly consumption you will not only be liable for the bill but also a penalty fee!

With your assistance in this venture we can assure a sustainable future for the centre and also for our city and country.

Lets make this a month to remember!

Remember that if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us at Centre management office.

Until then, take care

PS: this doesn’t mean that we are stopping here!!!! The Recycling program will continue so we would like to encourage all of you to keep up the good work and lets make Randburg, Joburg, South Africa and the rest of the planet a cleaner and better place to stay!!

Regards, The Marketing Team.
