Best known for his role as Poena in the popular television series Gauteng-alêng-alêng in 2002, he later surprised fans as a singer with the release of his first album 'My Vissermanvriend se Pa' - more than 120 000 copies were sold. His second album 'Halley se Komeet' was released in 2006, and when cellular giant Vodacom used one of this hit songs 'Leeuloop' in an advertising campaign, suddenly everyone knew who Robbie was. With the release of this latest album 'Afrika Sonsak' in July this year, Robbie once again proved his talent as a singer and songwriter. He first began his "acting career" in primary school - performing in all the school concerts. But it was high school that inspired the meaning of the the songs that Robbie would later write.
