Picnic with us at The Brightwater CommonsClassic FM presents ‘Cool Classics’ Sunday 25 February from 2 - 4 pm on the Commons.Join us at the Brightwater Commons for an afternoon of light Jazz. Enjoy the entertainment of saxophonist Brain Smith, drummer Neil Ettridge and Wessel van Rensburg on Keyboard Audiences can picnic on the commons whilst enjoying this first cool classical Sunday at the centre. Picnic baskets, containing a variety of foods, can be rented from food stores in the centre: Café Galini (011 789 9900); Café Buongiorno (011 781 2284), Babylon Again (011 285 0946), Ocean Basket (011 886 4440), Mimmos (011 789 7197), Darshan (011 789 8928), or M & A (011 886 2254). The above-mentioned can be contacted for information on their picnic menus and the ordering of picnic baskets. Take-away foods from any one of the centre's food stores can also be enjoyed on the commons Families and friends can bring their picnic blankets, picnic chairs and umbrellas for a relaxing afternoon on the commons, but please note that only picnic hampers and food items purchased from tenants of the centre will be allowed on the commons. No food, alcohol, picnic coolers or baskets may be brought from home. Residents of Gauteng can enjoy the Cool Classics on the Commons on every last Sunday of the month. Art lovers will find an amazing variety of art work at The Brightwater Commons, as Art on the Commons now co-incides with the Cool Classical concerts Art on the CommonsArt lovers will find an amazing variety of art work at The Brightwater Commons, as Art on the Commons comes to life, colourful portraits, scenic landscapes, beautiful wildlife scenes, abstracts, slate art and wood carving relief paintings will fill the grassy commons. Exhibitors will include prominent artists such as Wim Kosch, Val Koch and Charles Bell - known for his exquisite scenes of Scotland. All the works exhibited will be originals and visitors may even commission artists on the day - a 50% deposit fee will however be levied for any commission work. Only food items purchased from tenants of the centre will be owed on the commons.
Please note the following: own food and drink are prohibited from being bought on site as these can be purchased from the number of tenants on site. Baskets ordered strictly by booking only, which should preferably be concluded the Saturday prior to the picnic. Certain tenants offer special baskets made up on request - simply call the relevant tenant and discuss the options. The cost of the picnic baskets excludes a refundable R100.00 deposit. Collection of pre-ordered baskets should take place between 12:00 and 14:00 on Sunday and returned by 18:00 on Sunday afternoon. It is our intention to host these picnics the last Sunday of every month. The Brightwater Commons have a policy that no food may be eaten on the commons unless purchased from one of our tenants. Alcohol may only be consumed in the licensed areas.
