Oysters And... Festival

Oyster lovers are in for a treat as The Brightwater Commons will be hosting the Oysters And... Festival on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May 2007.

This colourful event will not only give visitors the opportunity to sample some succulent oysters, but also a variety of creative and delightful oyster recipes; fine wines and champagne.

The grassy commons will be home to an 'oyster shack' - a marquee where visitors can obtain fresh, juicy oysters. And as this year's event will seek to offer patrons a far more interactive taste experience, also present on the grass area will be various stalls (anchored by a Weber gas braai) - each offering completely different taste sensations, recipes and combinations of liquid refreshments... so imagine oysters with black Sambucca, oysters with garlic tomato salsa... or even oysters chow-mein.

For wine lovers, there'll be a selection of fragrant wines and champagne for sampling in the centre's promotional court. These will be presented by both renowned and lesser known estates.

As in previous years, forming part of the festival will be a wine auction. This will take place in the promotional court on the Saturday and participants can bid on a variety of red and white wines with proceeds going to a worthy charity.

One of the festival highlights will be a classical music concert presented by Classic fM. This will take place on the Sunday between 2pm and 4pm. Visitors can enjoy their succulent oysters, champagne and wine whilst listening to delightful classical melodies, or just sit on the grassy commons with their picnic blankets. For those wishing to picnic with family or friends, picnic baskets ready filled with delicious fare can be rented from certain tenants of the centre.

The Oysters And ... Festival, will be presented by The Brightwater Commons in conjunction with Chefs in Action, Full Volume Promotions and Weber.
