Classic FM presents ‘Cool Classics’ Sunday 30 October. 2 - 4pm. On the Commons.

Picnics on the Commons are back! And if that’s not all Classic FM brings a basket-full of excitement and fun to Gauteng! ‘Cool Classical Concerts’ take place every last Sunday of the month.

Distinguished classical artists will delight visitors to The Brightwater Commons on Sunday 30th October 2005 with a variety of light classical favourites. The performances will take place on the promotions stage of the centre from 2pm to 4pm and visitors can relax to the tunes of "You Raise Me Up", "Granada" and "E Lucevan le stele" amongst others.

Annaka and Jannie will also be presenting hits from their new Albums. Whilst audiences enjoy the violin tunes of "Scent of a Woman Tango", "Libertango" (Astor Piazzolla) and "Csardas" (Monti) from Annake's new album U-Turn; Jannie will present several brand new songs from his album Hoeveld Kleure, including Afrikaans songs such as "Toonsettings" (from N.P. van Wyk Louw's poems as done by Joe Niemand) and two Koos du Plessis songs - "Gebed" and "Sprokie". Adding to the ambiance will be Deveraux van der Hoven on piano and Magda de Vries on percussion.

Bring your brolly and your blanket and we’ll supply the banquet!
There is such an array of food here – you do not need to bring your own!

These prepared picnic baskets need to be ordered the Friday before and come with a refundable deposit of R100.

Fast Food Option
Grab a fast food option on the day from any of the following tenants; Al’s Gourmet Chicken, Fratellis, Mcgintys, Pick’n Pay Food Hall, M+A, Scrooge, Steers, Mcchangs Chinese, Wimpy , Hombaze African Cuisine, Piekfyn Home Industry.

Please note the following: own food and drink are prohibited from being bought on site as these can be purchased from the number of tenants on site. Baskets ordered strictly by booking only, which should preferably be concluded the Saturday prior to the picnic. Certain tenants offer special baskets made up on request - simply call the relevant tenant and discuss the options. The cost of the picnic baskets excludes a refundable R100.00 deposit. Collection of pre-ordered baskets should take place between 12:00 and 14:00 on Sunday and returned by 18:00 on Sunday afternoon. It is our intention to host these picnics the last Sunday of every month. The Brightwater Commons have a policy that no food may be eaten on the commons unless purchased from one of our tenants. Alcohol may only be consumed in the licensed areas. The Brightwater Commons cannot be held responsible for inclement weather or cancellation as a result thereof.
