News: Some highlights from 2004

2004 saw a number of new tenants opening in the centre, in the recently upgraded area on the south side of the complex, as well as in the newly formed fast food court under Nu Metro, namely; Fontana Famous Roastery, Mini Melts, Hotdog Café, Steers have relocated to this new fast food court, McChangs Chinese Take Away, Hang Ten, Ritewell Stationers, Get Branded/Sneakers, Ira Barber Shop, Heaven Express, Home Stuff, Rivershea Salon, Identity, Rage Shoes, More than Flowers. Restaurants M+A and Taste added to the food complement on the riverfront between Ocean Basket and Scrooge.

Picnics During the course of 2004.
The Brightwater Commons hosted picnics on the last Sunday of every month, culminating in an Andrew Lloyd Weber rendition by the Johannesburg Orchestra. Shoppers enjoy picnicing on the grass and supporting some of our restaurant tenants with purchased picnics.

Carfind Car Shows.
3 times during the course of 2004, Carfind hosted a huge car sale on the premises of The Brightwater Commons. Each show exhibited around 700 cars, with sales around140 cars per weekend. Carfind supported the shows with extensive advertising on 94.7, and the shows attracted in excess of 40 000 people per weekend. They have requested to repeat these shows in 2005.

Snowtime on the Commons
This highly successful promotion was hosted in July 2004 and we are hoping to repeat it in 2005

Halloween
The Brightwater Commons is becoming well known for the festive Halloween events held every year. This last Halloween attracted around 15 000 people, many of whom dressed up to enjoy the celebration and join in the parade.

Christmas 2004
Christmas at The Brightwater Commons is unlike any other centre. Décor focuses on exterior lighting to enhance the beautiful outdoor environment. Activities included a kiddies activity programme, a Des & Dawn Carols evening as well as a YFM concert called Carols under an African sky.
