Snow Time in Johannesburg

Let’s face it, how many Gautengers have seen snow, felt snow or played in snow? Not many; but Snow Time at The Brightwater Commons will give our city folks a chance to do just that! People of all ages will get to experience the pure delight of snow at this awesome event taking place at the centre, previously known as Randburg Waterfront, from Friday 30th July to Sunday 1st August.

For a fee of just R40, fun seekers will be able to enter a Snow Time arena situated around the promotional stage. Awaiting them will be various splendid activities such as bum-boarding where participants can experience the thrill of sliding down a 40m slope covered in snow, on bum - board. An area for building snowmen is certain to delight children; whilst thrills and laughter will abound in the ‘snow play’ area for teens and adults. Now is your chance to experience snow in all its magic – touch it, jump on it, roll in it, squash it, and feel its crisp coolness in your hand!

Other activities in this enchanting snow-land will include a bungee trampoline, climbing wall, target range and various inflatable jumping castles. Little ones might even get to meet their favourite YOTV presenters on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st … and who knows, maybe be on TV. Snow Time will take place from 11am to 6pm on Friday, 10am to 7pm on Saturday, and 10am to 6pm on Sunday.

Tickets can be purchased at the entrance of the Snow Time arena. As there’ll be no pre-bookings, folks are urged to arrive early to avoid queues. A ticket will entitle the holder to three activities with snow and a choice between bungee, wall climbing, target range and playing on the giant inflatables. All who enter the Snow Time area must have a ticket, however if moms or dads do not wish to participate in activities, they can pass their tickets to the little ones.

Snow Time will be presented by the Tiffindell Snowboard & Ski shop in conjunction with The Brightwater Commons. No matter what the weather, this unique opportunity for both young and old to experience snow - clean, cold, crisp, and… squashy - build a snowman and have a ‘snow fight’ - is not to be missed!
