The Way Out Doors Exhibition

For lovers of our sunny South African skies and pristine outdoors, The Brightwater Commons will be hosting The Way Outdoors Exhibition from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th May 2004.

In addition to the array of exhibits ranging from trailers, caravans and motor-homes to 4x4’s, quads and boats, a feast of fun activities - including freestyle motor-cross demos, a bungee trampoline and skydiving displays - awaits visitors in the common lawn area.

Guys looking for some serious fun can experience South Africa’s latest craze, Scooter X (motorized scooters on an off-road race course); have a go at Laser Sport (shooting clay pigeons with a laser); or test their climbing skills against a 10m high Mt. Rushmore using the latest technology in wall climbing. An introduction to diving will be hosted by African Seafaris

Also included on the exciting programme of events will be hot-air balloon rides, helicopter rides in the elevated parking grounds near Cross Street entrance, and bum-boarding at the Tiffindell Snowboard & Ski Shop. A skydiving display on Saturday and Sunday is certain to thrill visitors; whilst a show featuring feats of amazing strength by eight men from USN Strongman will leave spectators in awe.

Whilst moms and dads browse, little ones can enjoy chariot racing and ‘giraffe walking’ with scouts from the Randburg district. The scouts will also be demonstrating interesting activities such as tower and bridge building.

Braai Wars Competition - Sunday 16th May
As ‘braai vleis’ is so much a part of the South African outdoor lifestyle, taking place on Sunday 16th May will be the Braai Wars Competition. Watch as ‘braaiers’ pit their skills against one another and pick up a few tips. With a little something for almost every outdoor lover, this multi-faceted celebration of our great outdoors is not to be missed.

Whilst exhibits can be viewed throughout the expo, activities will take place at certain times on selected dates, as laid out below:-
