Welcome to the New Year At The Brightwater Commons

Soothing sounds of the tubular pan-flute, light classical and jazz melodies, and favourite pop tunes will create a vibrant atmosphere at The Brightwater Commons on New Year’s Eve (31st December 2003). Various live musical performances will take place from 9pm to 1am providing a venue ideal for New Year’s celebrations.

Performing artists will be based in various areas of the centre. Located at McGinty’s will be Harvest, featuring a talented line-up of seasoned musicians. With professional vocal coach Amanda Fouché, Wimpie Gouws on Drums, ex-Diamond Dog Kevin Muirheead on guitar, base guitarist Pete Orczy and Kobus Van Wyk on keyboards this talented five will deliver a variety of hits and old time favourites to accompany visitors into the New Year.

Filling the atmosphere with light classic, jazz and pop favourites on violin and cello will be the Velocity String Quartet comprising of four members of the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Whilst solo artist Andrew Lester provides a unique and refreshing show for audiences in the Standard Bank Area, Victus Samela will introduce the gentle sounds of the tubular pan-flute – an instrument seldom heard in South Africa. Creating a festive ‘mood’ outside of Ocean Basket will be duo Indigo Mood on saxophone and keyboard.

Residents of Gauteng are invited to enjoy dinner with family and friends at any one of the restaurants, drink in the cheerful vibe of New Year’s Eve, make their New Year’s resolutions and welcome in the New Year beneath the stars on the lush lawn area of The Brightwater Commons.
