Nurture your senses and unwind with Insight & Sound at The Brightwater Commons on Saturday 8th November 2003. Starting the day at 9am will be demonstrations of Thai Chi, Yoga, V-Core and Pilates. Then enlightening visitors at 1pm will be a fascinating astrology lecture by renowned astrologer – Anita Noyes Smith. A ‘sound journey’ at 3pm will relax the mind, whist one can de-stress and experience pure rhythm by joining a drum circle at 5pm. Closing the day’s activities will be gentle melodic sounds from Soulbird and vibey tunes from Shamanzi.

Insight & Sound will provide an opportunity for stressful Gauteng residents to ‘take some time out’, relax their outer beings and examine their inner ones. Visitors may observe the Thai Chi, Yoga, V-Core and Pilates or join in and get a taste of these holistic exercises for themselves. Whilst V-Core and Pilates will help to stretch, strengthen and loosen one’s muscles, Thai Chi and Yoga will provide slow exercise and at the same time relax the mind.

Once one is ‘loosened up’ astrologer Anita Noyes-Smith, who’s just returned from an astrology conference in the United States, will deliver a fascinating astrology lecture. This lecture will be free of charge, however space booking is essential and can be done by contacting Heather Jackson on +2711 789 5052.

Furthering the day’s delights will be a sound journey. Led by musician, composer, teacher and healer – Christopher Tokalon – this activity will encourage participants to ‘leave their baggage behind’ as they close their eyes and allow themselves to be calmed and energized by a tapestry of evocative sounds. Overtone singing, flute, rain stick, wave basket, Tibetan bowl, bells and nature sounds will massage one on a cellular level. Bookings can be done by contacting Diana on 082 675 8577.

Visitors can discover the stress relieving pleasures of drumming, experience rhythm in its purest form, connect with ones-self and express one’s emotions by join a drum circle at 5pm. Drums can be hired or simply bring your own. Wind down with a feast of heart warming, uplifting spirit sounds from Soulbird at 6pm. Closing the day will be Shamanzi at 7pm bringing to shoppers a variety of soulful and vibey tunes incorporating elements of Africa, South America, Spain, Celtic, reggae and Bohemian Gypsy.
